BSc, MSc, PhD
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Dr. Roland Böttger received BSc and MSc degrees in chemistry from Leipzig University (Germany). During this time, he was involved in several research projects including the synthesis of small-molecules inhibiting protein-protein interactions, structural analysis of proteins by X-ray crystallography as well as the development of antimicrobial and anti-diabetic peptides. Roland continued working on therapeutic peptides during his PhD studies in the group of Dr. Ralf Hoffmann at the Center for Biotechnology and Biomedicine of Leipzig University, which he completed with summa cum laude. This project investigated a novel cleavable linker strategy with tunable release kinetics to deliver peptides attached to Polyethylene glycol (PEG). In March 2018, he joined Dr. Shyh-Dar Li's group as a postdoctoral research fellow aiming to extend his expertise in the field of drug delivery.
