Joy Fernandez

Patient Support and Receptionist

Joy is often the first point of contact for people at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. As patient support and receptionist, Joy schedules appointments, answers the telephone, processes referrals, provides assistance to patients, and greets people when they arrive for an appointment. Joy also organizes patient intake processes and projects. Joy's background includes clinical roles in nursing and medical office management.

JILLIAN REARDON

Clinical Pharmacist and Lecturer

Dr. Jillian Reardon is in active clinical practice seeing patients by appointment at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. Jillian began her pharmacy career in the Maritimes, completing her undergraduate pharmacy degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2010 followed by her hospital residency with Horizon Health Network in Saint John, New Brunswick in 2011. She practiced clinically in inpatient cardiology at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax before relocating to Vancouver to pursue her graduate PharmD degree at UBC, which she completed in Spring 2015.

JAMIE YUEN

Clinical Pharmacist and Lecturer

Jamie is a patient care practitioner and pharmacist in active clinical practice seeing patients by appointment at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. He is also an instructor in the undergraduate pharmacy practice lab. Jamie completed his undergraduate pharmacy degree and postgraduate community pharmacy residency at UBC. He has several years of community pharmacy practice experience prior to joining the Clinic team.

JASON MIN

Clinical Pharmacist and Lecturer

Jason is a lecturer and also a pharmacist with the Pharmacists Clinic, delivering comprehensive medication management to patients. Jason's academic and clinical areas of interest include First Nations health, interprofessional team-based care, and technology in healthcare. Jason completed both his undergraduate pharmacy degree and his community residency at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC.

LARRY LEUNG

Clinical Pharmacist and Lecturer

Larry Leung is a pharmacist in active clinical practice seeing patients by appointment at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. Larry also teaches at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Entry-to-Practice program. He completed his bachelor of science in pharmacy and a postgraduate community pharmacy residency at UBC.

ROSANNE KHURANA

Clinical Pharmacist and Lecturer

Dr. Rosanne Khurana is in active clinical practice seeing patients by appointment at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. Dr Khurana has practice experience in hospital and primary care settings. In addition to her clinical work, she teaches at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program. She completed her bachelor of science in pharmacy at the University of British Columbia, a hospital pharmacy residency at Vancouver Coastal Health-Providence Health Care, and obtained her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto.

Sheila Kwan

Manager

Sheila is the clinic manager responsible for the operational and administrative aspects of the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. Sheila is the back-bone of day-to-day operations that enable the pharmacists to focus their time on caring for patients. Sheila has extensive experience in organizational leadership, project and event management, strategic planning.

Anita Kapanen

Research Coordinator

Anita is the research coordinator for the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. In this role, Anita provides expertise in a variety of ways including: research planning; the development of research protocols, grant applications, ethics submissions, data collection methods and tools; and data analysis and knowledge translation. Anita's contributions ensure the Clinic is continually evolving as a care site and model of pharmacist practice to best meet the needs of our patients. Anita has her PhD in cellular and molecular biology and completed post-doctural studies in Finland and at UBC.

BARBARA GOBIS

Director

As director of the Pharmacists Clinic, Barbara Gobis is responsible for the Clinic team, and the strategic direction, structure and function of the Clinic site. Barbara also participates in some patient care and student teaching activities in addition to her administrative role. Barbara completed her undergraduate pharmacy degree at the University of British Columbia, her residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Toronto) and her masters of science in clinical pharmacy at the University of Toronto.
