Practice Educators

One quarter of pharmacy students' learning at UBC Pharm Sci is experientially based. That's where our clinical faculty members come in. Our Pharm Sci practice educators are committed professionals who volunteer their time to give back to the pharmacy profession. As a practicing pharmacist, you possess a wealth of experience and knowledge, and can make a lasting positive impact on our Pharm Sci students as you help them prepare for entry to practice.

Become a Practice Educator

You're an experienced pharmacist: working directly with patients, implementing best practices, and staying on top of new developments in the fast-changing field of pharmacy. Your site is a catalyst for learning. Becoming a practice educator and guiding students at your site helps them put their theorized knowledge into practice—and helps them transition to the work environment.

Current Practice Educators

Fully 25% of the UBC Pharm Sci Entry-to-Practice degree program is experiential education. We currently work with 600+ clinical faculty at over 500 sites, and always have a need for skilled and dedicated pharmacists in our program. The success of our curriculum is reflected in our ability to build and sustain placement capacity, as well as in helping to develop outstanding practice educators and quality sites across British Columbia. We provide the training and support so that you can help us graduate compassionate, well qualified pharmacists.

Awards and Recognition

Each year, our students nominate practice educators who make a significant impact on their education for the Pharmacy Practice Educator of the Year Award. We also want to recognize our practice educators who distinguish themselves as student role models in their practice, leadership, publications, and other ways.
