Pharmacy departments in BC's health are affiliated with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and offer the one-year Pharmacy Residency program. These residencies are accredited by the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board. Residencies normally commence in June of each year and include general hospital pharmacy and clinical practice programs.
How the Program Works
The residency programs are offered by the health authorities of British Columbia. Residents complete required and elective direct and non-direct patient care rotations. Rotations are identified and coordinated by the individual programs. Upon successful completion of the program the resident is awarded a residency certificate and their ACPR (Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Resident) designation. The University of British Columbia recognizes this achievement.
