Associate Professor of Teaching
Mr. Tony Seet is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He graduated from UBC with a BSc(Pharm) in 1999 and still practices as a community pharmacist in Richmond. He joined the Faculty in 2009 as course coordinator of the first-year pharmacy practice skills lab. Working with other pharmacy practice educators, he implemented physical assessment and interpretation of lab values training, expanded scope of pharmacy practice activities, and the use of instructional videos and online learning materials and assessments. Tony received the First Year Teaching Prize in 2010 and 2012.

In March 2015, Tony completed the UBC Faculty Certificate on Curriculum & Pedagogy in Higher Education, which is now the Scholarship of Educational Leadership (SoEL) Program. Tony’s broad research interests include utilizing authentic pharmacy practice simulations to teach and assess student performance, developing students’ empathy through adherence simulations, incorporating arts and humanities into patient cases and mapping patient journeys, and peer/near-peer teaching
His most recent research projects are related to developing patient cases for use in an academic electronic health record, using the Jigsaw classroom (https://www.jigsaw.org/) to teach pharmacy knowledge and skills, and training pharmacy students to be educators.
