Pharmaceutical Sciences Analytical Suite

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Analytical Suite (PSAS) offers state-of-the-art research equipment available for use by the scientific community. The Analytical Suite provides high-quality services for all researchers. Below you will find a listing our of suite instrumentation.

NMR Spectrometer - Bruker 400 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer

The 400 MHz NMR spectrometer is equipped with an automated sample changer and a multinuclear broadband fluorine observe probe (5 mm sample diameter). This instrument can be used to acquire routine 1H, 13C, 19F, and 31P spectra and a wide range of multidimensional NMR spectra. Variable high temperature (up to 100°C) NMR experiments can also be run. Treatment of spectral data is conveniently done on an offline workstation (Topspin software).

UHPLC-MS/MS System – Sciex Triple Quad 7500 mass spectrometer & ExionLC AD UHPLC

The Sciex Triple Quad 7500 mass spectrometer is the latest Sciex triple quad model on the market and is connected to the ExionLC AD UHPLC system, providing extremely high speed and resolution, allowing for the simultaneous detection of multiple analytes in short time-frames. This mass spectrometer delivers high sensitivity of quantitation and quantification. With the fast polarity switching (5 msec) and up to 6 orders of magnitude across the linear dynamic range.  This state-of-the-art mass spectrometer can achieve high levels of sensitivity and detection of multiple analytes simultaneously.

Confocal Microscope System - Carl Zeiss LSM700

The LSM 700 confocal microscope is a solid-state laser-based system using a filter-less beam path technology that provides high spectral sensitivity. The LSM700 is equipped with 4 fluorescent channels and has 3 magnification capacities (see below).  The LSM700 stage platform maintains samples at the focal plane over time, and a temperature-, CO2- and humidity-controlled enclosure maintains optimal environmental conditions for real-time, live-cell cyto-fluorescent imaging applications.

Zeiss ZEN software includes the capabilities to acquire YXZ scans at multiple locations, over time, combined with the ability to perform spectral unmixing, multifield tiling, and real-time ratio imaging.  These capabilities support the most common post-acquisition data processing applications, including colocalization analysis, 3D/volume rendering, topography, and orthogonal rendering for tracking and motion analyses (for fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), fluorescence loss in photobleaching (FLIP), and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) analyses).
