Research

Spanning health outcomes to the behaviour of drugs in the body and pharmacy education, UBC Pharm Sci and our researchers are advancing knowledge in and out of the classroom from the level of large populations to nanoparticles.

Ways to Support Research

To attract top talent and retain outstanding researchers, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences establishes and awards chairs, professorships and fellowships. Donor support for chairs and professorships provide critical sustainable funding to promote outstanding teaching and research.

“The Shoppers Drug Mart Professorship in Clinical Pharmacy is helping me contribute to better health care and services by supporting my research in several areas, including primary care (such as appropriate use of opioids), optimal drug treatment of cardiovascular disease (such as heart failure or after coronary bypass surgery) and expanding the scope of pharmacy practice (such as performing physical assessment and prescribing).”  - Dr. Arden Barry, Assistant Professor (Partner), Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and current holder of the Shoppers Drug Mart Professorship in Clinical Pharmacy
