Our practice educators and community partners are fundamental to the academic programs offered by UBC Pharm Sci. Your expertise and mentorship are essential in preparing students with the requisite knowledge, skills and confidence needed to serve as valued and collaborative members of the health care team. The Faculty and its students deeply appreciate the positive and long-lasting impact your valued time and contributions offer in facilitating the personal and professional growth of our students. Our experiential education program would not be possible without your ongoing commitment and dedication to educating students, our future colleagues and leaders of our profession.
The Office of Experiential Education (OEE) is pleased to recognize our many volunteer practice educators and community partners through the following awards: the Practice Educator of the Year Award, the Outstanding Partner in Experiential Education Award, and the Community Partner of the Year Award.
Practice Educator of the Year Award
The Practice Educator of the Year Awards are student-nominated awards that are presented annually for the Entry-to-Practice and Flexible PharmD practicum courses, as well as for the Structured Practical Training experiences in the Canadian Pharmacy Practice Program. These awards recognize outstanding and exemplary individuals who have positively impacted our students within each of these educational programs.
Outstanding Partner in Experiential Education Award
The Outstanding Partner in Experiential Education Award recognizes an individual that has demonstrated dedication to and has made significant contributions to experiential education in any of the Entry-to-Practice and Flexible PharmD practicum or service learning courses or Structured Practical Training (SPT) experiences of the Canadian Pharmacy Practice Program (CP3). Nominations for this award may be submitted by students, faculty members, colleagues, supervisors, clinical coordinators, or others that can comment on the individual’s contributions.
Community Partner of the Year Award
The Community Partner of the Year Award is a student-nominated award that is presented annually for the Entry-to-Practice PharmD PHRM 270 Community Service Learning course. A community partner is an individual who supervises students on practicum and serves as the primary contact for the student and Faculty at the community partner site. This award recognizes outstanding and exemplary individuals who have positively impacted students during their service learning experiences.
