Priority Funds

Pharmaceutical Sciences Rural Communities Placement Award

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Rural Communities Placement Award was created to help students offset the costs associated with placements in rural BC. Your gift will support pharmacy students to explore the unique and dynamic health care needs of remote and rural communities, while providing valuable financial assistance to help towards the costs of completing these placements.

“The Pharmaceutical Sciences Rural Communities Award provided me valuable financial support, and offered me the opportunity to explore health care practice in a rural setting.”  David Y. Liang BSc(Pharm)’18

Graduate Student Professional Development Award in Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Graduate Student Professional Development Award supports student participation in opportunities that encourage educational and career growth. Professional development activities such as conferences are core to the graduate experience and helps students build networks within their research field. The Faculty’s research areas are wide-ranging, from basic and applied research to clinical studies to pharmacy practice research. As a result, so are the opportunities to engage in professional development activities, and cultivate meaningful relationships.

“I am proud that this award recognizes my various accomplishments at IDWeek 2019. And I am grateful for the financial assistance that helped support my travel to my first academic conference. A truly valuable experience!” Ariana Saatchi, PhD Candidate

Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Bursary

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Bursary was created by alumni and friends to support undergraduate students in financial need. It is well recognized that the program is both academically and fiscally demanding. Bursaries ensure that university education remains accessible to students, and they aren’t prevented from starting or continuing studies due to cost.

"Donor support allows me to better focus on succeeding in my education goals by helping ease some of the significant financial burden of supporting a family while being a student." Enav Zusman, Entry‐to‐Practice PharmD Candidate 2021
