The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC is excited to share the interim progress report for Catalyst for Change 2.0, its Strategic Plan for 2023 to 2026.
Catalyst for Change 2.0 outlines the vision, goals and strategies that we use to drive success as a Faculty. It incorporates the internal environment of the Faculty as well as the broader societal context, and provides a roadmap to implement the Faculty’s initiatives. The plan is structured around four priority areas: People and Place, Education, Research, and Practice.
This interim progress report showcases the significant progress we have made in advancing the priorities committed to in early 2023. We are proud to report that nearly all 38 actions outlined in the plan are well underway, with notable achievements across all four priority areas. Although a few actions are still in the early stages, our overall progress is encouraging and reflects our commitment to advancing the Faculty’s goals.
The Faculty has also maintained its momentum of success by continuing to push forward many exciting research, teaching and educational initiatives through a Strategic Plan Implementation Investment Fund (SPIIF). In spring 2023, the Faculty launched the SPIIF to support new initiatives and projects designed to facilitate and accelerate the achievement of goals set out in the Strategic Plan. Highlights include investment in AI technology, dedicated support for Indigenous students, mentoring for junior faculty, and support for professional workshops to build capacity in training related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE).
This progress report not only highlights our achievements but also serves as a moment to reflect on our journey and envision future activities to fully realize the objectives of Catalyst for Change 2.0.
