UBC Pharm Sci rises nine spots in 2019 QS World University Rankings

The University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has risen nine places in the QS World University subject ranking for Pharmacy and Pharmacology released in February 2019. The Faculty is now ranked 20th amongst over 1,200 universities worldwide, and amongst the very best in North America.

Overall, the University of British Columbia showed considerable gains in the 2019 rankings. UBC placed in the top ten worldwide for four subject areas, and in the top 50 in 41 of the 48 subjects that were tracked. UBC's Library and Information Management subject ranked first in the world, making UBC the only Canadian university with a number one worldwide ranking in any subject. Canada-wide, UBC ranks first in a total of ten subjects.

"The 2019 results are a reflection of the excellent progress the Faculty is making" says Dr. Michael Coughtrie, professor and dean, UBC Pharm Sci.

"This is down to the outstanding talent, dedication and commitment of our faculty, staff, students and alumni, and collectively we have much to be proud of."

Since 2004 the QS World University Rankings has published aggregated data on the performance of universities around the world. Their comprehensive subject rankings received upwards of 37 million visits in 2018 and overall rankings were viewed over 73 million times.
