Objectives
- CPPD aims to advance the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities of pharmacists and other health care professionals in British Columbia through leadership and innovation in continuing professional development, service, and scholarly activity, that support patient-centered, outcomes-focused care.
- Explore potential for funding from FNHA and government for contemporary topic based programs.
- Continue to explore Graduate Diploma and Certificate in Pharmacy in Primary Care options (2026).
Achieved Goals
- Entered into agreement with the Ministry of Health (MoH) regarding contemporary practice training for pharmacists (fall 2023); expanded programming funding agreements with MoH, including lab test for pharmacists (2024).
- Initiated new Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Leadership (GDPL)as a model for microcertificates/diplomas may help to diversify our revenue streams (fall 2024).
- Created Task Force in partnership with the health authorities to discuss graduate diploma in primary care (fall 2024), which will follow the model of the GDPL, but potentially have a certificate into diploma pathway. Exploratory phase initiated (2025).
- CPPD connected with Indigenous healers to initiate relationships (2024).
- CPPD submitted a request for proposal to be the educational provider for opioid use disorder and opioid agonist treatment training for BC Pharmacists (2025).
- CPPD hosted it’s first in-person workshop since 2021 – Prescribing with Confidence: An Interactive MACS Workshop (2025).
