Objectives
- Apply for Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) grant to support obtaining new equipment acquisition (2025–27).
Achieved Goals
- Identified strategic approach to equipment replacement to best support multiple research units (2024).
- Expanded upon the Faculty’s existing suite of highly productive infrastructure by adding new capabilities for mass spectrometry and cytometry; upgrading the existing confocal microscopy infrastructure; and upgrading in vivo imaging capabilities (2024).
- Contributed to/supported large-scale bio-manufacturing and pandemic preparedness initiatives (COMPLETED, PROGENITER, awarded) (https://progenitor.ca/) (2024).
- Promoted collaboration with UBC’s Immunoengineering and biomanufacturing Hub (CIEBH) for the upcoming CFI-IF competition to leverage our Faculty’s strengths in drug delivery and increase/upgrade our research infrastructure capacity respectively (2024).
- Applied for Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) grant to support obtaining new equipment acquisition as per plan; 2 applications to CFI-JELF (2024–25). Drs. Joel Finbloom and Laura Schummers awarded funding through CFI-JELF (2024).
