Welcome to the Virtual “Celebrate 2021: Recognizing Outstanding Partners in Experiential Education​” Event

During today’s virtual event, we will acknowledge and celebrate the many outstanding partners that collaborate with the faculty to support, mentor and teach our students. Dr. Janice Yeung, Director - OEE will present opening remarks followed by greetings from Dean Coughtrie. The 2021 award nominees and recipients will then be presented by our OEE Course Coordinators along with three of our Entry-to-Practice PharmD students who will be sharing testimonials of their recent practicum experiences.

Award Summary

Practice Educator of the Year Award
The Practice Educator of the Year Award is a student-nominated award, and is presented annually to practice educators in each of the undergraduate Entry-to-Practice PharmD practicum courses, as well as practice educators from the Structured Practical Training (SPT) experiences of the Canadian Pharmacy Practice Program (CP3), and finally for practice educators precepting in the Flexible PharmD program practicum courses. This award recognizes outstanding and exemplary individuals who have distinguished themselves as practice educators in each of these educational programs.

Outstanding Partner in Experiential Education Award
The Outstanding Partner in Experiential Education Award recognizes an individual that has demonstrated a dedication to and made significant contributions to experiential education in our programs. Individuals who contribute to experiential education in any of the undergraduate Entry-to-Practice PharmD practicum or service learning courses, SPT experiences of the CP3, and Flexible PharmD program practicum courses are all eligible for this award. Nominations for this award may be submitted by students, faculty members, colleagues, supervisors, clinical coordinators, or others that can specifically comment on an individual’s contributions.

Community Partner of the Year Award
The new Community Partner of the Year Award is a student-nominated award that is presented annually for the Entry-to-Practice PharmD PHRM 270 Community Service Learning course. A community partner is an individual who supervises students on practicum and serves as the primary contact for the student and Faculty at the community partner site. This award recognizes outstanding and exemplary individuals who have positively impacted students during their service learning experiences.
