Aileen Mira BSC(DIET), BSC(PHARM), ACPR, RPH
Lecturer, Integration Activities, GI Module Co-Lead
Aileen holds the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia. She completed a hospital residency at Lion's Gate Hospital and has practiced in various areas of pharmacy including community, hospital, residential care, and government. Aileen has worked extensively with a variety of interprofessional health care teams and stakeholders, and has been responsible for developing and implementing educational outreach initiatives for health professionals, patients, and the public.
Aileen joined the Faculty in 2014 as a course coordinator in the Office of Experiential Education (OEE) where she coordinated the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience – Institutional in the BSc(Pharm) program and co-developed and coordinated the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience II – Inpatient course in the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program. As a member of the OEE team, Aileen also developed Non-Direct Patient Care practicums as part of the Selected Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience and worked closely in co-leading the efforts of Experiential Education Facilitators (EEFs) for designated in-patient practicum sites across British Columbia.
Aileen currently is a lecturer with the Integration Activities Team and the Gastroenterology Module Co-Lead within the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program. Her research interests include supporting students on practicum and more recently how instructional activities help prepare students for practicums.
