BSc (Pharm), CGP, RPh
Clinical Associate Professor
Vaughn attained his BSc(Pharm) degree from the University of Toronto in 2011 and, after working for several years in retail pharmacy, was selected for the UBC Community Pharmacy Residency program in 2013. Vaughn is the course co-ordinator of PHRM 341 – Pharmacists in Practice III, a seminar course in 3rd year of the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program examining issues in the profession. He also has a great deal of past experience in the management of chronic pain as a clinical pharmacist in a multi-disciplinary team working to help injured workers return work. As a result, he has a particular interest in chronic pain, opioid therapy, and opioid tapering and teaches these topics in both lectures and practice-lab activities in the pharmacy program.
Outside of UBC, he works with a small group of pharmacies which are integrated and co-located in family physician and physician specialist offices. These highly clinical dispensaries allow pharmacists to practice in a fully informed and clinically focused manner and provide a high level of care to patients.
