Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) – Outpatient

PHRM 491 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in the outpatient pharmacy setting. Students will apply integrated problem-solving skills to resolve increasingly complex drug-therapy problems.

PHRM 492
Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) – Inpatient

  • 160 hours (4 weeks)

PHRM 492 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in the inpatient pharmacy setting. Students will apply integrated problem-solving skills to resolve increasingly complex drug-therapy problems.

Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) – Specialized Outpatient

PHRM 493 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in the specialized outpatient pharmacy setting. Practice sites provide specialized services in an area of focus such as travel medicine, compounding, diabetes management, women’s health, natural health products, senior care, and others. Students will apply integrated problem-solving skills to resolve increasingly complex drug-therapy problems.

Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) – Ambulatory/Primary Care

PHRM 494 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in the ambulatory/primary care phar-macy setting. Students will apply integrated problem-solving skills to resolve increasingly com-plex drug-therapy problems.

Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) – Selected Direct Patient Care

PHRM 495 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in the domain of direct patient care (settings in outpatient and inpatient practice). Students will apply integrated problem-solving skills to resolve increasingly complex drug-therapy problems.

PHRM 496
Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) – Selected Direct Patient Care or Non-Direct Patient Care

  • 240 hours (6 weeks)

PHRM 496 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in the domains of direct patient care (settings in outpatient and inpatient practice) and non-direct patient care (e.g. in areas such as research, health policy, education, leadership, and others). Direct patient care practicums focus on application of integrated problem-solving skills to resolve increasingly complex drug-therapy problems. Non-direct patient care practicums have general overarching objectives involving an emphasis on the Communicator, Collaborator, Leader-Manager, Scholar, and Professional AFPC role domains.
