Admissions Information

Admission Requirements and Timelines

To be considered for admission to the GDPL Program, applicants must meet UBC's English language requirements.

Applications open on October 1, 2025 and close on March 31, 2026: pharmacists can apply anytime between these dates.

STEP 1: Applicants must complete an online application which requires:

  1. Their CV
  2. The names and email contact of 2 referees (We will contact the referees directly and ask them to complete a simple, standardized form within 6 weeks of the date when the application was submitted.)

STEP 2: In consideration of applicants' busy professional lives, the outcome of their application will be determined by the GDPL Admissions Committee within 6 weeks of it being received, and the applicant will be notified of the decision accordingly. Only successful applicants will then be invited to complete Step 3.

STEP 3: Applicants take part in a short video-recorded interview designed to get to know the applicant’s motivations for leadership development and interest in the program.

Upon review of the merits and completeness of the materials submitted in Steps 1–3, an offer of admission will be made within 8 weeks after completing Step 3. Applications missing any required documents will not be considered. Note that offers of admission are conditional until original transcripts from all previously completed pharmacy-related degree programs are received.

STEP 4: Applicants who receive offers of admission to the Program will be:

  1. Asked to respond to the offer within 2 weeks
  2. Required to submit original transcripts from all previously completed pharmacy-related degree programs by June 15, 2026 either via email to pharmsci.gdpl@ubc.ca or by mail to:
ATTN: Program Manager, Degree Programs for Pharmacists
Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Leadership (GDPL)
    UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
    5122-2405 Wesbrook Mall
    Vancouver, BC Canada
    V6T 1Z3

Applicants whose past academic record does not meet UBC’s threshold will be considered on a case-by-case basis, based on the applicant’s aptitude and motivation to develop leadership skills.

We are here to help. For any application-related questions, please reach out to us at pharmsci.gdpl@ubc.ca or 604-822-1945.
