Year in Review: 2021–2022

July 29, 2022

Each year the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC) publishes a Year in Review document, designed to summarize key achievements and areas of progress from the twelve months prior.

The Faculty has made significant progress towards its goals over the past year, despite the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Key highlights include generating $10.6 million in research grant income, educating 1,020 students across Entry-to-Practice PharmD, Flexible PharmD, BPSc, MSc, and PhD programs, working with 765 practice educators across 424 sites in British Columbia, supporting 2,255 patients at the UBC Pharmacists Clinic, and hiring 23 Primary Care Clinical Pharmacists across the province, as part of the Pharmacists in PCN Program.

Also of note, 2021 marked the Faculty’s 75th Anniversary. Several initiatives were rolled out to celebrate and commemorate this milestone. These included an alumni-focused video and microsite, an interactive timeline, and a series of feature stories showcasing proud moments and memories of the past 75 years in our four strategic areas of focus: Education, Research, Practice and People and Place.

With 2022 marking the end of Catalyst for Change: 2017–2022, preparations are well underway for the launch of the Faculty’s next strategic plan. This new plan will build on the successes of Catalyst for Change and guide the Faculty through to 2025.

We invite you to download Year in Review: 2021–2022 here.
