Purpose
The Faculty’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) serves as a key internal advisory body to the Dean, advancing the Faculty’s strategic priorities across teaching, research, pharmacy practice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity, along with broader academic and community-focused initiatives and events. Members act as communication conduits, sharing timely updates from their portfolios while also bringing forward ideas and feedback that strengthen the Faculty’s mission and vision. The team provides guidance on the development of Faculty-wide policies, space planning, research initiatives, academic programs, and advancement of strategic priorities, and may delegate responsibilities to subcommittees or ad hoc groups to carry out specific aspects of its mandate.
The purpose of the SLT is to advise the Dean of Faculty-wide matters related to represented portfolios, support the Dean’s decision-making process with diverse perspectives from across the Faculty’s administrative functions, and enable the flow of information among portfolios to ensure members are informed about activities and decisions in other areas. In fulfilling this role, the SLT provides advice directly to the Dean, reviews and offers feedback on recommendations from other committees, actively seeks input from other portfolio directors and liaises with university-wide academic and administrative committees and advisory councils as needed to advance the Faculty’s mission. Individuals may also be invited to attend and speak at SLT meetings to provide context, updates, or insights on specific topics.
The SLT meets once approximately every two weeks.
