Once accepted into the Flex PharmD Program, you may be eligible to receive course credit for your past learning experiences that demonstrate required knowledge, skills and attitudes of program learning outcomes.
UBC Pharm Sci’s Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process awards university-level credit for learning. Whether you acquired this knowledge through formal learning experiences (e.g., structured credit programming by accredited educational bodies), or through non-formal learning experiences (e.g., non-credit learning attained outside of formal studies), you are eligible to apply for credit toward selected didactic courses and/or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) courses. The maximum credit that you can attain through PLAR is 50% of the overall credits in the Flex PharmD Program. Not all courses are eligible for PLAR credit.
Eligibility Requirements
As a Flex PharmD student, you are eligible to apply for PLAR credit. If a PLAR-eligible course has prerequisites, these prerequisites must be completed prior to applying for prior learning credit for that course.
